Girls' Day Out!

My family has sponsored this little girl from CDA House 2 since I came here last year, so I wanted to take her out for a fun day!

AM and me during the bus ride

And with Kaley's suggestion, since AM is super active and can be a handful, I took another sweet girl, S, along and made it a girls' day!

Leaving the house- these were their first poses when I took out my camera

First, we went to the Plaza Principal, where one side of the plaza is always full of pigeons and people selling bird food to feed them. I've always wanted to feed the birds, but I feel like it would be weird to do it alone, and nobody has really shown interest in it...so having 2 kids was a great excuse to fulfill my dream, haha! I bought a few bags of the corn birdseed for 1 boliviano (about 15 cents) each, and we went around throwing it at the birds and watching them flock to it.

The girls had fun feeding and watching the birds, and I loved watching them having so much fun! I even gave in after they ran out of food and bought an extra bag for the 3 of us to share.

After the pigeons, we walked around the plaza, the girls danced to music that was playing somewhere nearby, and we even made friends with an elderly lady who was sitting on a bench. When we left the plaza, the girls said bye to the seƱora and gave her a hug and kisses on the cheek. I'm pretty sure they made her day, it was so sweet.

Next was lunch at Dumbo, a big ice cream place that's also a restaurant. We sipped on some pineapple juice and ate delicious food!

Digging into some chicken nuggets, hot dog, and of course french fries!

And since going to an ice cream place without getting ice cream would just be torture, we got a couple scoops to eat on our walk to catch the bus home. AM chose lime and S chose grape (pretty sure because of the bright colors!).

Overall it was a super fun day! These girls are crazy and hilarious, and they definitely kept me entertained the whole time! I also got a lot of comments about how cute and sweet my "nieces" are. :)
